In short

This site sets no cookies, uses no tracking or analytics and loads nothing from third-party servers – fonts, images, map data and sounds are served from its own host. Only your settings are stored, in your own browser.

Hosting and server logs

The site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data sent, browser and operating system. This serves delivery and protection against attacks (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We do not see individual visits and use no Cloudflare analytics.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Cloudflare (part of its terms). Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), with standard contractual clauses in addition. How long Cloudflare keeps logs is set out in its privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Settings in your browser

What you set in the footer or the control room is stored locally by your browser (local storage) – it is never sent to us:

• pnd:settings – sound, motion, atmosphere, colour scheme
• pnd:control-room – control room dials
• pnd:lang-hint-dismissed – language hint closed
• pnd:powered (session storage, ends with the tab) – power-on animation already seen

This storage is strictly necessary for a function you asked for (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG), so no consent is needed. You can delete it at any time via your browser’s site data or “Factory reset” in the control room.

Contact by email

If you email us, we process your address and message to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for enquiries about work, otherwise (f)). We delete them once the enquiry is settled and no statutory retention period applies.

Links to Instagram or Flickr are plain links. Only when you click one do you leave this site; from then on that provider’s privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) (Art. 21).
